Shepherd Staff

So again as always, it has been a little while since i updated the blog. Currently as you guys might remember, my biggest prayer request was financial support, and to get set up with Shepherd Staff, the missions organization. Currently I was denied at Shepherd Staff because i wasn't officially sent out as a missionary by Calvary Philly. Calvary Philly has the heart for church planting, and since i am not doing that, my situation is alittle different then most missionaries. I now have 2 emails out to 2 different missions organizations(Go Ministries and Saving Grace World Missions) please pray that the Lord will open the door for one of these organizations to accept me.
As always guys, thank you so much for your prayers and continued support, it really means a lot. I should be comming out with another letter this week or next to explain all of what has been going on in the last month.
I still havn't figured out how to post it on here, but if someone knows let me know, but until i figure it out, if you would like to recieve my prayer letters, please send me and email (emaillomas@gmail.com)
God Bless you guys,
Chris

Sick as a dog

Hey guys things have been pretty crazy around here. Currently i have the cold which has been going around the bible college, it is no fun. This effects my work here, as well as my relationship to the students and Sara. When i'm sick, all i want to do is get better, they say misery likes company, but for me, i like to be alone when i ain't feeling good. Anyway the Shepherd's Staff interview i had went well, the man who interviewed me Jeff Jackson was very nice, and now he has to talk to Carlos my missions director, currently Carlos is in Uganda, so it will be a little whiole till i hear back from them, so just please keep them in your prayers, as well that this will also determine how i get support from others, and Calvary Philly, SO please keep it in your prayers. Besides that, Sara is not happy that theres alot of stress when there is a pile of work, bills, and everything, and im sick. Please pray that the Lord gives me strength to get through all this.
As far as the bible college goes, everything is going well, here, we just had our class outing to Bonn, where we went to Museum it was a lot of fun. Always keep the student's and the staff in your prayers, there is a few students here i know that are under alot of attack right now, as well as a few staff, im not going to mention names or stories, but just be keeping us all in your prayers. As far as things go around here, 2 of the showers are currently under construction do to water damage, the insurance covers it, but it is an incovienience, and needs prayer as well. Also just general upkeep around here is a big prayer request, we have been having problems with one of our vans, as well as the computers around here, so up keep is a big request.
Besides the above mentioned things, things are going well around here, and once this sickness is over, i will be doing alot better too haha.
Thank you as always for all of your prayer and support.
PS i don't know how to post documents on here, but i just came out with my February missions letter, if any of you would want a copy i can email it to you.
Blessings,
Chris

The Beginning of a New Semester :-)

The Beginning of a New Semester :-)

So its been about 2 weeks since i last updated this , lastly i was telling you guys about the upcoming pastors conference. Well its over now, so i can give you guys an update. The conference was great, David Guzik my old director here was the speaker, along with a man named Sandy Adams. It was so nice to see old friends again, and meet new ones. It was a great fellowship time, as well as a great time to just here about what God is doing throughout all of Germany, and other parts of Europe too. The hardest part though, saying goodbye to everyone.
With the end of the conference i moved from our little apartment, back into the villa. They have me in room 3 this semester. check out my room here. It was so nice for me to get to move into a nice room like this
at the apartment, it has a bit of a mold problem, so it was difficult living
there with my dust allergies. Also there were some other reasons i wanted
to leave too, like lack of internet. I'm really enjoying being on campus again one of the things the students didn't like last semester, was they said the staff was a bit distant, so i'm right on campus now, and i hope this helps me to get closer to the students, i feel that is really important seeing as i'm the Men's Discipleship leader.
Speaking of the students, they all are here now, last Saturday was our orientation day, so the semester has begun!!!!! all students got here safe, so praise the Lord. The new students are saying they feel at home i hope to put up a class picture soon whenever we take one. The only draw back, was that we ran out of heating oil, so we were without heat for probably about a week. Which we refilled in December, so how we lost all of the oil, none of us really know.
I had my first class this past Tuesday, and the students really seemed to enjoy it as well. No one came from the Siegen youth group, i was a little disappointed, but hey what can you do, the only thing i can ask is that you guys pray for the youth to come, or just in general that the Lord would really show us a way to connect the youth group and the bible college. The class itself as i said, we are going through the life of King David, and the class is challenging us, and gearing us to become men after God's own heart. I'm still looking for a way maybe where i could post the class here, or maybe online through the bible college so you guys could listen to it every week. Just remember it is geared toward youth the class. Next week we are covering 1 Sam 17 and 18, the battle of David and Goliath, the class is every Tuesday at 1:30pm Philly time or 19:30 German time, if you guys could just remember to lift me up in prayer that day, it would be awesome :-)
As for personal things, im still working on setting myself up with the missions organization Shepherd staff. Still waiting for a few more letters to come in, and then i have my interview. As for now though Calvary Philly hasn't had there meeting yet to see how they could support me, i don't know when that meeting will be, Carlos the missions director said it would be in the next couple weeks, because they meet quarterly. So please pray for that, and that i would get the support to be out here.
Financially it's been interesting, more fun with the cell phone company, but this time there only over charging me $50. Then of course i have that speeding ticket from when i was rushing back from my uncle Joergens funeral. That was my own stupid fault though. I still am in need of support, again im not quite a missionary yet, but if you would like to help me out in anyway just let me know. I was looking into what i have to do to get a work Visa out here, but for Americans who arn't married to a German, it can be very difficult which i have been noticing.
Besides that me and Sara are better, we both were under a lot of spiritual warfare these past couple weeks, but thank the Lord that he was faithful to get us through it. Please as always pray for our relationship as well.

I love and miss all of you guys, please continue to keep me in your prayers
Chris

the latest

for those of you that dont keep up, or have me on facebook, im very sorry about not updating this. As the semester came to a close it was very busy.
First off lets get to thanks giving!!! it was so amazing, loved it so much, but then again setting me up in a place where i can eat as much as i want, it shouldnt surprise anyone that i had a great time. It was lots of food and fellowship, and fun.
Then the next step was graduation and the end of the semester. When graduation came it was hard for anyone to believe the semester had gone by so fast. We had 3 graduates, which its not that much, but that also means we will have more returning students this semester.
As ive had you guys praying, ive been asking you to pray about many things, first after the semester we completely cleared out the cafe due to us moving the cafe to a new location. So as we cleaned it out, needless to say that a bunch of dust was kicked up, and next thing you know, chris has a big old cold.
That brings me to being home in the states. I came back with a cold, and was sick pretty much the whole first week i was there. After not being home for about a year it was great to see all of my family and old friends again. This time was really hard on both me and Sara this being our first time apart for along time, but we got through it.
during my time back i had the missions meating with the missions direktor carlos from Calvary Philly. He told me they will bring my needs before the missions board and see what they could do for me. So i felt very optimistic with this. As well i will be setting myself up as a missionary with shepherd staff so that way when people donate money to me, they will be able to get a tax right off for it as well.
Until then if anyone feels compelled to donate before i finish this(it could be a couple weeks) the way to do that would be to go trumark financial and make a deposit in account 613612. Or mail a check to 2719 fernwood ave, Roslyn, Pa, 19001 and my father will put it in my account, or just give it to someone in my family :-) they will know what to do.
So it seemed as soon as i stepped off the plane, it was time to get back on another one.
So now im back at the bible college again, please pray for the situation with my cell phone, more stuff is comming up. As well as my blitz that i have to pay. As well Sara's sister hannah is getting a pacemaker battery put in today she is 3 years old pleeeaaassee pray for her.
Pastors conference is comming up, but until thursday i have some free time.
I promise i will be updating this weekly once again, again sorry the end of the semester just got a bit hectic :-)
grace and peace guys
chris
